Men of Courage

The men's group that I host is about to finish its current study on marriage. Next week I intend to continue with a study on Biblical manhood using Larry Crabb's book, "Men of Courage" (originally titled "The Silence of Adam"). I read the original book 15 years ago and found it very helpful in understanding God's purpose for men and the pitfalls that men often face. I have ordered several copies, but the book can also be purchased from Kindle and google books. Men of all ages are welcome to attend.

LifePointe (Maroochydore Baptist)

As you are likely aware, LifePointe Baptist  church recently burnt down. QB has since sent out details of how associated churches can help financially. At our leader's meeting on Sunday (29/01/2023) we agreed to support LifePointe with a $1000 gift. This offering was obviously not designated in our 2023 budget, and so if you would like to help contribute to this offering, you can do so by transferring an amount to the MIBC account or providing your gift in a marked envelope on Sunday morning.

Property Vandalism

Over the course of the last ten weeks, the church property has incurred damage to windows from rocks three times. I have submitted relevant police reports and Sarah has investigated cover from insurance. At our leaders meeting on the 29/01/2023, the leaders agreed to investigate some preventative measures including (1) A Facade on the front of the auditorium (this has been discussed at previous members meetings); (2) Screens on the windows at the top hall. If anyone is aware of other solutions, or businesses who can help with these property alterations, then please let me know.

 If you (or your children who are looking for ways to serve the church) wish to be involved in the creative ministries team, please come along to the software training with Pastor Tim this Saturday.

Now that children ministries have resumed for 2023, parents are reminded to ensure their child/children are checked into their respective ministries. If they are attending Sonshine Corner, they need to be checked in to the 'top hall'; if they're in Junior Church, they need to be checked in to the 'auditorium'.

Lyn Weaich will be kicking off the youth study this Sunday, the 5th of February,  accompanied by Pastor Tim while Karl waits for his blue card to arrive. This will be for high school-aged kids. Pastor Tim will be hosting a meeting on the 12th of February to discuss the direction of the Sunday evening church services. Please come along if you wish to be involved or would like to find out more information.

Amplify Conference for Children, Youth, and Family Ministry is on again. They have an online hub available for Mount Isa. If you are interested in registering for this conference or would like more information, please contact the office.

Bob Stephens secured several thousand Gospels of John from the ACL.

To help with keeping track of where Bibles have been placed, Pastor Tim has set up a feedback page 
where street names can be entered and the distribution map can be viewed. If you would rather not use the feedback page,
simply contact Pastor Tim or the Office, and they can do it for you.

Feel free to pick up some Bibles and distribute them through a couple of streets.

Just a friendly reminder to please fill out your unavailability for rosters in Elvanto. This helps with future rostering across all ministries to ensure we have enough people to cover the church's needs.
